About
Us
Welcome to Jagorani Mohila Kallyan Sangstha (JMKS), an NGO dedicated to women empowerment in Bangladesh. Since our establishment in 1986, we have been working tirelessly to uplift and empower women and marginalized communities across the country, with a special focus on the Narsingdi District.
At JMKS, our mission is to help people, especially women and children, rehabilitate themselves in the face of natural and man-made disasters. We believe in the empowerment of distressed rural women and marginalized communities, regardless of caste, creed, or religion. Through our initiatives, we aim to enable underprivileged individuals to take responsibility for promoting and protecting their rights and privileges.
Education plays a vital role in our work. We provide formal and informal education to both adults and children, striving to build a society free from exploitation, malpractice, injustice, and filled with happiness, joy, and peace. Additionally, we are committed to promoting women’s reproductive health and rights, ensuring that women have access to essential healthcare services.
To address the challenges faced by hardcore poor individuals, we initiate feasible programs aimed at improving their situations and shifting them from dissatisfaction to satisfaction. Through various projects, including microcredit programs, we empower individuals by fostering savings habits and mobilizing their own capital.
Our efforts extend beyond empowerment and education. We actively engage in creating a conducive environment, protecting the overall environment, and advocating for equal rights and equal resource distribution. By mobilizing local resources and promoting sustainable development models, we strive to create a better future for all.
We are grateful for the support we have received from esteemed organizations such as Cebemo Netherlands, WHO, SAP BD, APHD, Bangladesh NGO Foundation, and PKSF. With their support, we have been able to implement impactful projects, including our Women Development Program, socio-economic development for marginalized families, staff training programs, non-formal education initiatives, and microcredit programs.
We invite you to join us in our journey toward women’s empowerment and community development. Together, we can create a society where every woman has a voice, every child has an opportunity, and every individual can enjoy better health and well-being.
